2008-2009 Annual Research Report

The Office of Research plans to produce an Annual Research Report for 2008-2009 that will showcase ODU faculty's research, scholarly, and creative accomplishments. This Report will document our collective as well as individual achievements. We envision it to have some of its listings appear by Colleges/Departments as you must have noted in our just-out 2007-2008 Annual Research Report.

The 2008-2009 Annual Research Report will include entries for the period July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009 and will have following categories:

(a) Journal Editors
(b) Editors of Books and Journal Special Issues
(c) Books Authored
(d) Book Chapters Written
(e) Refereed Journal Articles
(f) Book Reviews
(g) Conference Articles
(h) Creative Research/Exhibitions
(i) Keynote Speakers
(j) Honorary Awards
(k) ODU Fellows
(l) Intramural Research Award Winners
(m) FY 2009 New Research Awards
(n) Patents

I am assuming that you will have a lot to contribute to this next volume as well. Please provide your inputs to your respective chairs who in turn will provide us with inputs (in electronic form only) for the whole department (all together) for all but the last four items. The info on the last three items will be gathered directly from ODURF and other sources. We request that the submissions follow the format suggested below:

(a) In case of a Journal Editorship

Name, Journal Name, Role (Editor/Co-Editor/Associate Editor/Editorial Board), Year.
Note: Needs to be provided "only if" one wants to add or modify her/his respective entry in the just-out Annual Research Report.

(b) In case of Editors of Books and Journal Special Issues

Name, Journal/Book Name, Special Issue Title, Month/Year.

(c) In case of Books Authored:

Author(s), Title of Book, Publisher, Location, Publication Date.

(d) In case of Book Chapters Authored:

Author(s), Title of Chapter, Title of Book, Pages xx-yy, Publisher, Location, Year.

(e) In case of Refereed Journal Papers:

Author(s), "Title of the Paper," Journal Name, Volume #, Issue Number (if applicable), Pages xx-yy, Date/Year. (Note: ODU authors must be identified in bold)

(f) In case of Book Reviews Done:

Name, Book Reviewed, Publication in which Review appeared, pages xx-yy, Date.

(g) In case of Conference Papers:

Author(s), "Title of the Paper," Conference Name, Publication Reference, Pages xx-yy, Conf. Location, Date. (Note: ODU authors must be identified in bold)

(h) In case of Creative Research/Exhibitions

Name, "Title of Creation/Exhibition," Location, Date/Year.

(i) In case of Keynote Speakers

Name, "Title of Keynote Address," Conference, Location, Date/Year.

(j) In case of Awards.

Name, Award Title, Organization, Location, Date/Year.

We request that all entries for your respective Department be send in a single e-mail transmission.

We want to include info for all departments and want to be all inclusive. The department chairs have been requested to provide their respective input directly to Research Development and Outreach Coordinator Ms. Umaporn Pongphuntharak at "upongphu@odu.edu" by no later than Monday, August 31, 2009.
