Call for Abstracts - Lockheed Martin University Initiatives

Please look at this exciting opportunity with a very short time-frame.
Lockheed-Martin has just announced a university collaboration program in
such areas as sensing, advanced software, bioinformatics, decision support,
nanotechnology, and energy. (Because this list-serv does not accommodate
attachments, email Kate Ferguson KFERGUSO@odu.edu for attachments
containing full topic list and submission instructions.)

They "strongly encourage" only 5 submissions per university, so we will
treat this as a limited submission. A 750 word abstract that will serve as
a preliminary proposal to L-M is required. L-M must receive these by May
20, sent from a single point of contact (which for ODU will be ODURF).
Office of Research will coordinate an internal review and selection of the
five abstracts to be submitted. Please submit these to Kate Ferguson or
Mohammad Karim by noon on Monday, May 5. We will then send to reviewers and
have results to you by Friday, May 9 so you will be able to refine the
abstract and immediately work on preliminary budget development with ODURF
in time for the May 20 deadline.

I will talk with Lockheed Martin to get a better idea of the anticipated
project timeframes and budget parameters (I'm sure you will have these same
questions when you read the materials.)

Call if you have further questions.

Regards,
Kate Ferguson
